i have an iPhone 12 purchased end of jan and since had it I’ve been getting undeliverable error messages when I send sms to android contact, checked sms is on in settings still not working, what’s the solution?

What you see in Settings for SMS is, if iMessages fail, then it will be sent as SMS. For normal SMS contact your Carrier.
SMS, MMS, WiFi Call, Call Forwarding, Call Waiting, Call Merge, Conference Call, Hotspot, Voice Mail (Visual or Normal) all are Carrier Specific features. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider), the agency who issued the SIM / eSIM to you.
