What’s the life expectancy of an Apple Pencil

If the battery is properly maintained (i.e., it is kept charged at all times - and not set aside for extended periods - or are allowed to totally discharge) the Pencil has no defined lifespan.
A Pencil that is not properly used/maintained may die very quickly.
I have two first generation Apple Pencils within reach (age 4 years and 3 years respectively), used moderately, whose batteries are charged whenever the charge falls to approximately 10-20%. Neither are showing any signs of battery or functional issues.
