I am not able to sign in on iMessage on my MacBook. I put in username and password and it says there is and unexpected error. I try to go into preferences on the menu bar and it is greyed out and can't even highlight and click on it. I am signed into iCloud and apple ID and all that in preferences. I tried restarting with the cntrl+cmd+R+P and that didn't work either. Not sure what else I can do...

I have tried restarting several times. I have also gone through that list of suggestions several times too. I am signed into iMessage on one other MacBook and it works just fine on that one. Still have no idea what else I can do...any other suggestions would be great!
