Apple TV Movie Rental Streams in French (not English as purchased)

Our last two Apple movie rentals have been streamed as French language overdubs.

We clearly selected an English version, and our country settings and preferences remain English (UK) for Canada.

Hard to believe no one else is experiencing this (nothing in the community discussions for many months).

Apple simply refunds us but can’t seem to understand how this is happening.

On what device is this happening?

The Location, Interface language, and Preferred audio language are three different settings on many devices.

Quite a selection of movies in the Canadian iTunes Store will have multiple audio tracks for multiple languages. You can just select a different one. But options may differ per title (and per country).

(example from Tenet)

Thanks for that.

I figured it out this morning. Our main TV has an Apple TV box, and the movie played in English (as rented).

So I returned to the other TV which we had used for the movie, and which does not have an Apple TV box (relying instead on the Apple app on the Samsung TV).

After deleting the account and signing back in, the movie played in our default or selected language of English. So “fixed”. Not sure, though, what caused it to suddenly do that.

I much appreciate the quick response.
