New iPad 4th Generation charging port problem

Within a few weeks after purchase, my 4th generation iPad charging port would often not accept the apple charger even after trying several. For some unknown reason it would later seem fine and work for a few days or weeks. It’s doing it again. Has anyone else experienced this and what can I do to end the frustration? Thanks

See the section in this support document about checking the port on the iPad. If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge - Apple Support


If that does not help, then see the section about contacting Apple Support to have the hardware examined.
