Let's get some facts straight.

No iPad, currently, old or new, can wirelessly, inductively charge.

To have a device, wirelessly, inductively charge, needs a material, like glass and magnets, that DO NOT conduct any electricity, like the glass backs found on any of the newer and current range of iPhones and any other newer makes and models of higher end smart phones.

iPads have aluminium alloy back panels and cannot be designed and made, with this current material, to be wirelessly, inductively charged.

Aluminium/Aluminium alloys CAN conduct electricity.

The iPad back panel would have to be made of some other non-electrical conducting materials/alloys in order to be designed and made to utilise wireless, inductive charging.

Sorry.

What I think:

iPad Air Gen.1 is from a time when wireless charging was not "mainstream", so doubt that some have made a case within the last few years. which works with a device that is even older. I'm not quite into all the technicalities - but I think a wireless charger, compatible or not, will have a hard time charging an iPad at a speed that is usable.

So my answer is no.
