Just finished setting up new iphone 12 with ATT but phone cannot send calls and cannot find new phone number from iphone
in my iphone setting what is a primary and secondary? Do I enter my new phone number in primary and a backup phone number in secondary?

The primary and secondary numbers are if you have two lines set up with your iPhone. Your iPhone can use Dual SIM. You can read more about this here:
Your number with AT&T should automatically be set. If you’re not able to receive calls, start with the steps here as they could lead to a resolution:
