Ios 12.5.1 issues on iPhone 6. Can I downgrade software

Since upgrading the recent software to 12.5.1 my phone 6 has had problems with the touch screen lagging and glitching and generally running slow entering Apps.

Can I downgrade it to the prior version and how? Thanks. Pete

IOS 16.6. Can this be uninstalled? ios 16.6 is literally killing my phone. It has slowed down my phone. Heats up my handset decimates my battery I really need to get back to the previous version. Are there any whiz kids here that can help???
