Preference settttings (file) for surface control - can't find

I have probleem with two notes which won't respond to sound. I'm working with two midi controller (Nectar LX Impact 88 en NI M32) but even with musical typing these two notes won't respond.

When I bypass all surface controls everything is OK and works fine!

I think I made accidentally een assignment for these notes. I read that a solution might be by deleting the preference file (com.apple.logic.pro.cs) for this surface control settings? But I am not able to find (and delete) this file. Where I can I find it? I have tried may times to reset all preference but that didn't work.

Can anybody help me?

André

>>my Mac can't find both files. Under the library/preference there's no such file.

The correct syntax is:

~/Library/Preferences

Exactly as written, it's the hidden Library directory in you USER account.

You can also go to the upper left Logic Pro menu and find commands to do much the same under the "Preferences" and "Control Surfaces" headings.

Hi there,

From a recent thread:

You can resolve many issues by restoring Logic Pro X back to its original settings. This will not impact your media files. To reset your Logic Pro X user preference settings to their original state, do the following:

  1. In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
  2. Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
  3. Press the Go button.
  4. Remove the com.apple.logic10.plist file from the Preferences folder. Note that if you have programmed any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults. You may wish to export your custom key command as a preset before performing this step. See the Logic Pro X User Manual for details on how to do this. If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro X, then you may also wish to delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
  5. If you have upgraded from an earlier version of Logic Pro, you should also remove ~/Library/Preferences/Logic/com.apple.logic.pro.
  6. Restart the computer.

Hope this helps and solves your query,

Eddie G.

Hi Eddie,

Thanks for your response. But still have the problem. With the suggested search order my Mac can't find both files. Under the library/preference there's no such file.

I have reinstalled Logic... but the problem is still (again) there. The most strangest is that this problem doen not occur in Garageband. Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

André
