My iPad mini won’t turn on

My iPad mini will not turn on. When I put it in the charger, it stays a bit then the white screen with the Apple logo comes on then immediately it switches to the black screen with the empty battery showing that it ran out of battery. How can I fix this?

Perhaps your battery needs to be replaced.
