Start by determining which type of document it is. Pages makes two types of document:

In a word processing document, the main text is in the Document Body, and flows from one page to the next. Pages creates new pages as they are needed to accommodate that text.

In a Page layout document there is no Document Body. All text is placed in containers—text boxes, shapes and tables, etc.

Yoi can easily determine which type of document yours is by clicking the Document butto at top tight, then clicking Document again in the top row of the Inspector window that opens in the right sidebar.

About halfway down that window (red arrow)find the Document Body checkbox. If it is checked, this is a word processing document; if unchecked, it is a Page Layour document.

If your document is a word processing document, go to the View menu and select Show Invisibles.

On the document pages you will then see many blue marks and characters. Most will be spaces, shown as blue dots, tabs, shown by horizontal arrows, and returns (line breaks or paragraph beaks) by pilcrows ( ¶ )

Look for Page breaks

and section breaks

Every blank page will contain a page or section break to force a new page after it.

To delete a 'blank' page, delete the page break (or in the case of a page filled with text, delete the text.

Deleting the Page break will not delete images or other objects placed on the page, but permit text on the pages below to move up to fill any space on the page from which you deleted the page break.

If your document is a Page layout document, each 'Page" in that document is in a separate Section.

Click on the View button to show page thumbnails in the left sidebar.

In the sidebar, click on the thumbnail for the page you want to delete to select it.

Then press Delete.

Repeat for other pages to be deleted.

Barry
