Why can’t I update my carrier settings and is that why my iPhone will say that some tasks are limited?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14

We don’t know specifically why this happened to you, and it’s doubtful anybody outside Apple and maybe the carriers can determine what happened here.


Here’s what is supposed to happen:

Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


Here’s what to do if it doesn’t:

If you see an Update Failed or Apple Pay Not Available alert after iOS update or restart - Apple Support
