Use a solution of 70 percent isopropyl alcohol and 30 water, as recommended by the CDC. Many household cleaners and disinfectants have bleach, peroxides, acetone or ammonia, which may cause permanent damage to the product. Turn off the device before cleaning and clean all surfaces that hands may touch.

As others have said, keep moisture away from your device. What many recommend and I concur, is wiping with a clean microfiber cloth along with the smallest amount of water, like a half drop, just for moisture.

These measures won't disinfect, but they will give you a cleaner, useable device.

Also, if you've got a cover for it, see if there's a way to disinfect that. There probably is. For mine, I wipe the cover with a dab of alcohol. And it's really the cover, more than the device, that our hands come into contact with when using.
