Sorry to hear that your iPhone was stolen.

To locate your iPhone in the Find My [Device] app, you must have activated the Find My app BEFORE the iPhone was lost. Here is some information on that app ➔ If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support.

Note that your lost iPhone must be able to make the connection to the internet via Wi-Fi or cellular connection so that it can mark its location and broadcast it. 

Furthermore, you can report to your local police as well. You can also call your carrier and have them blacklist your iPhone so that no one else can use it.

Was this Lost? If so...

Backtrack your Locations:

Visit locations were you most recently at prior to losing this. So, if at a retailer, then stop by and see if the M.O.D. (Manager on Duty) put it aside somewhere.
