lost most items from the contact list. after the latest ios update I have been ony left with contacts that I created during the last year, after switching to this new iphone. the "old contacts are all gone.

hello,

I have lost most items from the contact list after the latest ios update.

I have only been left with contacts that I created during the last year, after switching to this new iphone. The "old" contacts are all gone.

Right after the upgrade I could not see the old contacts, so I enabled iCloud for contacts and it loaded the missing numbers back. after a day or two, they were gone again. turning neither the iCloud nor the phone off-on, did not help.

I also had to re-login to our Outlook after the upgrade, but this seemed OK.

one more thing, some months ago, I noticed that most of my Contacts were duplicated in the contact list.

could you please advise?

is there anything I could do about it?

Contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you had Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other

If Contacts on iCloud, try this --> Restore contacts, calendars, bookmarks and more using ...

  1. How many Contacts account (email client server) you have?
  2. What is your default Contacts Account?
  3. Which email account you are using to store Contacts?

  • See the GIF below for Contacts and Default Account

  • This example is for Gmail but the process remains same for all Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other
