The max single file size is 4GB. The Library is a folder that contains many files. If one of them is larger than 4GB, then it cannot zip the Library.

Can they compress it in the Finder? I think that just uses Zip, so probably not.

There are some other compression utilities like StuffIt. I don't know what limits it has.
