Hide Alerts in Messages Keeps Turning On

I had the same issue. I fixed it by turning off dnd on my watch. Some people fixed it by turning it off on their ipad.

I am experimenting with this, but it appears that someone else in the conversation had hide alerts enabled. This may have been turning it on for everyone in the conversation. They turned hide alerts off, and so far it hasn’t turned back on (over 24 hours). I’m going to ask them to hide again and see if the issue returns. If so, clearly a bug.

I have exactly the same problem. Only one conversation. And the same people in this group message are in others, and none of the others have this issue. I unhide alerts and about an hour later it’s back on. One person had hide alerts enabled so they turned it off. And it still came back.

I restarted phone, watch, and iPad. Still not resolved.

This is a problem that I have been struggling with for a while as well. I have tried everything listed here in the thread so far. It's very frustrating that I am constantly missing messages because it keeps turning itself on randomly. Is there a plan to fix this in the next iOS update?

This is happening to me all the time as well..Odd it isn't the same person every time but it is vey frustrating as I keep missing messages from my 91 year old Father. today it did it in the middle of a conversation. Apple has to fix this and rebooting my phone isn't the problem. This isn't the cable company please stop using the same methods to make peoples problems go away or make people go away out of frustration.

I'm having this same issue, and it's annoying! Same conversation/text and none of my others. I've have tried restarting and downloading the latest version. I'm missing texts because of it!

I agree. It’s only one contact that does this. They are not a part of a group text. Tried the reboot, checked update iOS, apparently it’s an issue with Apple. Thank goodness this only happens with this one contact.
