Newly started Mac mini

I bought a new Mac mini, how can I connect it with my old third party Bluetooth keyboard? Since when I first started the new Mac, it required sort of key in info....?

If your old keyboard is not recognized when first starting up you may need to get a cheap wired keyboard to setup your Mini for the first time. It is a good idea to have a wired keyboard anyway just in case.
