Upgrading OS to Big Sur

Why is it not possible to update to Big Sur from a Mac Pro of 2012? I have more than enough memory, space. Currently runs on Sierra. Thanks!

Mac Pro 42 lb silver tower 2012 can run MacOS 10.14 Mojave if and only if it has a replacement Metal-capable graphics card.

That is the last Apple supported MacOS for that computer series. To go further, you would need to look into hobbyist "patcher" software, which we can not refer you to directly. These solutions are NOT suitable for productions environments.
