Cannot log into Messages on Big Sur

I was able to use Messages on my old Intel Macbook Air.

Does anyone know what is the problem, and how can I log into Messages?

The Macbook Air is running the latest Big Sur 11.2.1, and I also have an iPhone running the latest iOS 14.4.
