Am trying to locate a spreadsheet of car repairs but the only thing I can find is a PDF
of it - the Numbers SS is gone. How could this happen? I d.l. to my phone at the garage
and store my docs on iDrive - but Finder's powerful search function is unable to help.
Could a Numbers doc get converted inadvertently to .pdf?

No. You can export one as a PDF or print to PDF but the original Numbers document will remain.
