iPhone 12 disconnects bluetooth in vehicle

After just upgrading to an iPhone 12 from and iPhone 7; I've experienced several issues. The first is in my Cadillac Escalade, I've paired my new phone with the vehicle. However when I try to use the hands free phone; the connection keeps dropping and reconnecting so you can't use the phone at all in the car. Regardless of whether you choose the bluetooth option or not. I hate this iPhone 12. Does anyone know the fix?
