Somehow Apple Software Update has become installed, even though I still have the link. But when I click on it, it gives an error message. How can I reinstall it?

You can reinstall iTunes from one of these links which will reinstall Apple Software Update:
Alternatively if you're using the Microsoft Store version of iTunes it should manage updates for you and you don't need ASU any more.

Thank you. I will give this a try. I think Icloud was installed through the Microsoft Store. Will the itunes install still work?
