Smartphone for seniors to switch from flip phones

is Apple looking at the senior population that currently use flip phones and which need smart phones to connect with glucose monitoring and GPS, are also good for hearing difficulties and sight issues?

Setting up a special purpose iPad For many seniors, especially those relegated to a Retirement Home or Long-Term Care facility, they need to have an ability to reach out to family and friends easily and without any knowledge of these sophisticated devices except to turn it on and ask to speak with a listed party - Skype seems to be the best for simplicity and cross-platform generally available free service. Is there a way using an iPad to achieve maximum ease to do this? It seems to me to require a special setup of the device. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

iPhone iOS for senior citizens I heard a while ago that Apple was working on an iOS for seniors and handicapped people so that the options are minimal or locked down? My mother is a “Button Pusher” and she’s constantly messing up her phone requiring hours of help from family members, ugh!😑 [Re-Titled by Moderator]

The phone market, large keypad, not a touchscreen, phone size picture viewing, louder volume. Maybe one side the keyboard and other hinged side screen. Simple to use, but able to connect to health tech like glucose monitoring. (There are great apps for that) but only if you have a smart phone, so you don’t have to have the receiver and non-smart phone with you outside your house.
