Target disk mode.

Hi,

I like many others got stuck while upgrading from Mojave to Big Surr. I am trying to remove my data and delete applications using target disk mode on an older MacPro running High Sierra. I have 2 folders named “Macintosh HD- Data”, only one is showing up on the other computer and it’s the wrong one. It’s not the one with my files in it, just the system.

On the original computer, when I go into disk utility I see the second “Macintosh HD- Data” and can see all the files in it.

Please help. I have been trying every possible option for weeks trying to get my data and restart my computer.

In Disk Utilities on the offending computer Right Click on the first Macintosh HD - Data and note the Mounting Point ( path ). Do the same on Second Macintosh HD - Data and Note the same. Post back the actual findings. One of the more Senior Contributors will probably pickup this thread and help to choose which one to Remove. I do not know for certain so will not guess and give bad info.
