Yeti with iPad Air 4 - audio output volume decreases until mute

I have a Yeti Mic and I connect my headphone for audio output. When I connect to my iPad Air 4 via the apple USB A to USB C adapter, my iPad volume is automatically decreased to mute and is constantly being decreased until it is mute. it's as if someone is pushing lower volume button and holding it.

I am creating content in the GarageBand app and while the mic works perfectly, I cannot play back the content as the volume is constantly decreased and currently when I'm done recording, I have to unplug my Yeti from the iPad Air 4 and play back the audio from the iPad Air 4 speaker.

Does anyone have the same problem and is there a fix? thank you!
