Can't sign in to apple id on my macbook pro mid 2014 A5102 with reinstalled OS to update to the newest.

You mentioned that you do receive the verification code successfully; to clarify, have you tried entering your password, followed by the verification code? "Whenever you sign in with your Apple ID on a new device or browser, you'll confirm your identity with your password plus a six-digit verification code."

Can’t sign in after the new update. Keeps going in circles. Ask for ID and PW and then back to the same. If I enter the wrong PW it tells me it’s incorrect. Otherwise just round and round we go and I can’t sign in. Please help.
