Question: iCloud for Windows duplicating/renaming files
I’m having a similar issue to the one described here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251961817?login=true. I am creating alot of graphics files via my iPad and saving them to an iCloud directory. I also have iCloud for Windows on my pc. There are times when I have to recreate hundreds of jpg files in a directory, so I will first rename the directory "xxx.old" and then create a new directory "xxx" with updated files that have the exact same names as in xxx.old.
This all seems to look fine when viewing the directory from the Files app on my ipad, as well as viewing the icloud directory from my web browser. However, when I look at the actual files on my Windows pc the "xxx" and "xxx.old" files are merged, with the newer files having a " (1)" after them.
This is not going to work for me since the new files need to retain their intended names.
