Replaced Damaged Mac and lost free year of Apple TV

I bought a 27" in January and it came with a year of free Apple TV. It kept turning off so I returned it and ordered a new one. As a result they cancelled my free year of Apple TV.

Seems like a poor way to treat a customer.

Apple TV plus 1 year subscription free So recently I took my MacBook Air in for repair and ended up resetting the whole system and so instead of setting it up with a back up I just set it up as a new MacBook Air. Now Apple TV plus is offering me a year free subscription and I’m hesitant to take it because technically I don’t really qualify based on what I’ve read. Should I ignore it? If I take it will I be penalized at any point? I’m just so thrown off by this. I did not buy a new device. This was a device I bought years ago. I have not bought a qualifying device since September. I just simply took in my old device for repair.

What does AppleCare cover for Apple TV 4K 64? Does it cover theft/loss or only defects? What is the typical reimbursement process if Apple TV was stolen with proof? It doesn't have find my feature installed though. If I purchased the Apple TV using Apple gift card, is there any way to dispute the transaction with Apple support?

Purchased a new MacBook Air on 28th June 2021 through education. Paid $899+ tax. Did not receive the free 12 month subscription as promised was told bye live agent that I would have to contact Apple TV to take this matter up with you
