airdrop macbook pro m1 not working

I cant transfer files to / from my macbook pro m1.

I see my iphone in the list but when i click on it nothing happens.

I can use airdrop between my iphone and other iphones.

Ive tried before and it worked just once, but for the last 30 days i cant transfer nothing.

M1 is updated to latest OS. Iphone is running ios 14.1

Any ideas why this is happening on M1 macs?

Ive tried iphone to macbook pro 2015 and it works fine.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

Don't know if you have sorted this yet, but I had the same issue on my M1 MacBook Air. Turns out the icon and the equivalent 'button' are slightly misaligned in the Airdrop window on my machine. If I click slightly above the icon for the device I want to send to, Airdrop works. Click on the icon and it doesn't. Same applies to the 'Done' and 'Cancel' buttons. Hope this helps someone.

In my case I am unable to send files from iPad to mac M1. When I want to airdrop file I can’t see the M1 in the receiptent list. I can see my iPhones and also another intel Macbook in the list and send and receive files.

Surprisingly However I am able to send files from MacBook M1 to all devices as they are visible to it.

The MacBook M1 is carrying the latest updates and its Bluetooth and WiFI are fine and the visibility is set to everyone..

Hi there Jonny2121,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re unable to share files between your MacBook Pro and iPhone. We’ll be happy to help.

Look over your iPhone settings as well: How to use AirDrop on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If the behavior started after updating iOS or macOS, you can also back up and update to the latest iOS version: Apple security updates. If the issue continues, there’s a link at the bottom of the page, to contact Apple Support for further assistance. We hope this helps.

Best regards.
