I’ve tried different articles I saw online on how to activate the sound recognition on my 7 plus but it’s to no avail
it’s always showing refreshing even after I’ve reboot my phone several times
please how can this be fixed?

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We can definitely understand wanting to be able to recognize sounds using your iPhone. Looks like it is calculating the storage space which is what you are seeing "refreshing". Do you have space available on your device? You can manage your iPhone storage using the article here: How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Once enough space has been made available, you can follow the steps here: Recognize sounds using iPhone to turn on the Sound Recognition.

Thank you for trying those steps. Have you tried connecting to a different network such as Wi-Fi instead of cellular? Check out how to Connect to Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
You can also confirm there are no updates that need to be installed.

When you connected it to Wi-Fi and turned it on did it stay connected long enough to download and fully activate? It does need a data connection in order to function properly. It should work both off and on Wi-Fi once activated.

i tried using wifi immediately as I saw this thread but something seems not to work right
the day I used wifi the sound recognition worked and I saw 5.6 Mb used and I saw list of sound alarms I want my phone to recognize
but the other day, I wasn’t connected to wifi I was using my phone mobile data
the sound recognition didn’t work anymore, it started showing refreshing again
please I need to know if this only work with using Wifi, or if it works for both wifi and mobile data
and does it always use data connection in other to recognize sound?
I’ve also tried this method but still doesn’t work
