Mac Mini M1 won't connect to Magic keyboard after 11.2.2 update

Got a new Mac Mini M1 a few weeks ago, which I love btw. Before I got it, I read up on the Bluetooth issues when setting up and as I had an existing Apple Magic Keyboard and Trackpad, figured that would work to set it up. It did. Then paired my Logitech MX3 Master mouse and MX Keys keyboard (far better than the Apple stuff). All has been fine since, rebooted when needed applied Big Sur updates - no problem. Until yesterday when 11.2.2 hit.

On re-boot today (because Airplay would not connect to my Homepod), my Logitech keyboard and mouse would not connect on start up. Not good. So got out the Apple Magic stuff. Trackpad connects but the keyboard will not connect. Tried everything (reboots and putting into pairing mode) - nothing.

So now I cannot login to my new Mac Mini! Thanks Apple - you useless idiots! Really? You cannot get that right? This is really a new low for you.

So now I am waiting for delivery of a cheap USB keyboard from Amazon (hopefully same day), just to get back in to my Mini and find out if the Logitech bits will connect and the original Homepod issue is resolved.

Apple is getting really bad for things like this. I have invested fully in the ecosystem (Mini, work Macbook - which I am on right now - Watch, iPad, iPhone), but I'm seriously questioning this. Maybe Samsung is the route now? Honestly fed up with the issues. Thanks you Apple. Oh and my work Macbook Pro also had 11.2.2 applied and works fine and I'm typing this on my Logitech keyboard no issues.

Rant over - anyone got a suggestion to fix this? Other than twiddling my thumbs whilst waiting for Amazon to delivery a cheap USB keyboard?

Have you tried connecting the lightning-to-USB cable from the keyboard to one of the Mini's USB ports? I had one situation a few weeks ago where the keyboard dropped and wouldn't reconnect, but using the cable got the Mini to recognize it. With cable connected, I could establish a bluetooth connection by turning the keyboard off and on again -- then after disconnecting the cable, the bluetooth connection worked fine.

Thanks - do you mean on the Apple Magic keyboard? If so then it doesn't have any ports. It's from an older iMac I had - worked fine when I set up the Mini. Tried the Logitech keyboard with cable but it's a charging port only. Also tried the USB dingle they give you for moving between devices/screens - nothing. Think the only thing that fit's this is an old fashioned USB only keyboard - which is en route. To make matters worse, I picked on on Amazon that was available for same day delivery and after ordering Amazon changed it to next day. Nice....

After experiencing so many issues with Bluetooth and such, I purchased a WIRED keyboard and mouse, for emergency cases like yours.

Rather a late answer, and not sure if you solved the issue. But, I would suggest having a wired K&M on hand, just in case. Once everything is setup and working, you can then reconnect your 'daily use' keyboard and mouse.

Quick update - thank you to all that replied, even the suggestion I buy a USB keyboard (which is what my original post said I was waiting to arrive from Amazon...). So no change, still waiting for Amazon to deliver my £12.99 USB keyboard (wonder if Apple will reimburse me? :-)). Weirdly, Big Sur 11.2.2. has solved a Bluetooth issue on my work MacBook Pro, which is an Intel chipset (not M1 like my Mini). Every morning when I logged on for work (only first thing - never during the day), my MacBook Pro would not wake using the Logitech Bluetooth keyboard or mouse, yet my Mac Mini would wake with them. Ironic now eh!?

Now, my MacBook Pro wakes using the Logitech keyboard/mouse! So 11.2.2 has fixed that, just still can't log on to my Mini, which is the same issue I had with the MBP pre 11.2.2. So is this a choice Apple? You can only wake one chipset with a Bluetooth device?
