You need to have or to borrow a SIM for activation.

There is no alternative approach available specifically during activation.

Once activated, a SIM is only required should you require cellular service.

If your SIM is not listed as unsupported, you’ve seemingly acquired a carrier-locked iPhone, and will only be able to use SIMs from that carrier, or you (or the previous owner) will need to perform the carrier unlock with the carrier that’s holding the lock.

Same answer. Use a carrier SIM. Or work with the carrier to clear the carrier lock.

That might involve completing the contract, or “just” legal paperwork to clear the lock.

This also all assumes the carrier will perform carrier unlock, as not all will unlock.

Nobody here can help unlock this iPhone, nor will Apple. Only the carrier can do that.
