Use the SUM() function.
In the above example, columns A and B play no part in this calculation, so I've hiden them.
Click on cell C10 to select it.
Press = to open the Formula Editor.
Type sum, then click that word to change it to the appearance above (with a grey lozenge where this one says C2:c7)
Select cells C2 to C7
Click the green checkmark to confirm the formula and close the editor.

Barry, thanks again, I think I got it now. I had overlooked that the cells were formatted wrong, e.g. text instead of numbers, and now it works like you suggested.

I did it several times, but always get a wrong result. I click on cell to select it (for sum to appear later), I press "=", and formula Editor appears, I type "sum", click the word, and next to it the grey lozenge appears which reads "value", and it will not let me "select" the cells I want added. And if I add one by one I get wrong result. What do I do wrong?
