I have an older iphone 6 running an older version of IOS... if I try to update the IOS, will it recognize the latest version for that phone and only apply it or will it try to apply only the newest version? I think the later would render the phone useless, as 14.4 doesn't work on a 6. Please advise.
Your iPhone will only update to iOS 12.5 and no further, as it is lacking the hardware and processor needed for newer iOS releases.
