The last batch of photos i uploaded from my iPhone 11 display black thumbprints only for the .mov type videos.
They display ok when i select them, and will subsequently display the thumbprints once i trim them.
But why suddenly this issue ?

Ahem - it does help that I use the correct term - thumbnails not thumbprints
It is the thumbnails that are just black boxes for the HEVC videos (.mov) from my last import of photos from by iPhone (iOS 14.4) - imported via a USB connection.
They play ok once I select them. Doing even a short trim edit will cause the thumbnail to be rebuilt - which I have now done.
Just hope this does not appear again
Please post a screenshot of what you're seeing. This is the first time that "black thumbprints" have been mentioned so don't know what you're referring to.
