"Trim" option for video in Photos is greyed out - Why> And how does one make it active?
I am trying to trim a video I took on my iPhone. It is in photos on iCloud and on my computer, but I can't trim it in either place.

To be able to trim a video from your iCloud Photos Library, your Mac needs to be able to download it from iCloud.
If Photos can edit a video or play it, will depend on the system version and on your Mac model, on the codec of the video, and on the frame rate. Older Macs may not be able to work with videos with a high frame rate.

After I posted this question, I discovered I could that I was able to trim the video using the device on which I took it (the iPhone). It downloaded to the computer just fine and also uploaded to iCloud, so maybe it just isn't possible to trim except on the original device, although that seems strange.
My computer is a relatively new MacBook Air
