iPad keyboard is covering message I’m typing

All of a sudden the keyboard is in the middle of the screen in email so that I can not see what I am typing.

Touch-and-hold the “keyboard” key, then slide your finger to the Merge & Dock option and release.

IPad keyboard disappears in Mail The keyboard on my iPad regularly disappears when I am typing in Mail and the only way I can recover is to delete the message (saving it as a draft) and then reopening the draft to continue typing. This only happens in Mail on new and forwarded messages as well as replies. The iPad is fully up to date (6.5.1 (c)) and has no special keyboards installed. I’ve also hard reset the device several times and force-closed the app but the problem persists, albeit randomly and only in Mail.

IOS IPad keyboard disappears when I type a message in Mail, if I stop and pull up another app, the keyboard disappears. I have to exit mail, open again, and then retrieve the draft. My IOS is up to date, I have restarted the device, and none of this helps. There was a post about this in January of this year but there’s no resolution. Your feedback is most welcome.
