imessage spam on macbook pro

Every few weeks I check to see if there is any posts or updates for imessage on my macbook pro. I have a great spam blocker for unwanted texts on my iPhone but they still come through on the Macbook Pro. This appears to have really started about 4 months ago but has gotten very serious. I get at least 10 per day at this point and changing my phone number or "blocking" anyone not in my contacts is also not going to work. Clearly this is something that needs help from Apple and since it comes through the iPhone is also makes sense. Is this a reasonable item get on the list of requested features

Hey there kpmeagher,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you're receiving spam with iMessages on your Mac. We'll be glad to assist.

On your Mac, look for the "Report Junk" option under the message. We also have additional options here: Recognize and avoid phishing messages, phony support calls, and other scams

We know that you mentioned not wanting to block messages, numbers or unknown contacts. However if these messages are getting through, may need to use these steps to Block messages in Messages on Mac.

I am sorry but that is no help at all. First there is not report junk option on imessage on MacOS Catalina. The reason you cannot link to your contacts is you have to know who the person is beforehand. There are several apps on the iPhone including the one I use which is iRobot that blocks the same phishing and junk on the iPhone but the get through to iMessage. The problem is getting much worse probably because apps like iRobot are working so well. We need an app like iRobot for the Mac OS too. Please help
