iPhone 4 and Bluetooth Connection Issues

Since I have upgrade to the iPhone 4 I have found that anytime I am on a call and try to connect my Bluetooth headset, after the call is already in progress, that the person on the other end can't hear me very well. They claim it's quiet or muffled or even that it sounds like I'm in a tunnel. If I however hang up the call, turn off my headset then turn the head set back on and then redial the person the headset works properly. This never happened on my iPhone 3g with iOS 4.0.1. Also at time the bluetooth on the phone take a long time to connect to the headset. Some times I have to hard reset the phone by holding the power and home buttons, but when the phone turns back on bluetooth is turned off and I have to go into the iphone settings to turn it back on.

I have tried resetting my Jawbone Prime and deleting the headset from the phone and completely resyncing from scratch but nothing seems to work. I'm assuming this is yet another bug with the iPhone4. Any one else able to confirm or know what other problem it may be?

I wish I could help you, but after hanging around here since the iP4 launched, what I've seen over and over again (and no offense to you) is bluetooth issues caused by not knowing how to completely pair the two units. I would contact the headset manufacturer and see if they can walk you through pairing it properly with an iPhone. It might help..........

No offense taken at all. It's been paired with a 3g forever and was on it with 4.0.1 but ever since I have used it on the iPhone 4 it's been having the problem. I even reset the headset to factory settings and tried again. Like I said it only happens when the headset is turned off, and I turn it on and connect it while in the middle of a call.

Man there are some serious issues going on with the iP4. I don't know if its software related or hardware related, but this is ridiculous. i thought apple had their stuff together, apparently the ball fell short on this one. I love using my bluetooth, it's much safer, but it does me no good if its not staying paired with my iPhone....geez fix this already apple!!!

I also am having serious problems connecting my iPhone 4 with my 2010 Chrysler 300C uConnect Bluetooth system. I can pair the phone to the system by resetting the iPhone, deleting previous pairings, turning the phone off and then back on and them pairing using uConnect procedures. Sometimes this results in the phone working perfectly with uConnect until I turn the car off. Starting the car an hour later the phone is still paired but when I try to make a call using uConnect the signal is sent to the phone to make the call, and the phone does make the call. Unfortunately the phone does not transmit that call back to the uConnect speaker. I have to go thru the reset procedure listed above at least once and sometimes several times before the iPhone will work properly again. When I turn the car off and restart it later the same one way communication problem surfaces. I had Genius Bar advisers reinstall software and replace the phone.Neither effort solved the problem. My 3G iPhone worked perfectly with uConnect.

Same iPhone 4 problem with Bluetooth

I used to connect perfectly with my old iPhone 3G and my Bluetooth enabled GPS (Garmin nuvi 760), call quality was quite ok and I used it all the time for handsfree calls for a couple of years, then I upgraded to iPhone 4G with the latest OS 4.3.1, and while the devices pair quite OK, the call quality is terrible, down to the point that it is unusable, people can't understand me and I can't understand them. It was a very significant step backward as far as call quality via Bluetooth is concerned!

I have been able to locate many posts with similar issues, but I haven't been able to locate any with a resolution, does anyone have any suggestion?
