Portrait mode in iPhone XR not working.

Portrait mode does not work on my rear facing camera at all, and never has. It works fine in front facing camera. And yes, I’ve made sure I am not too close/too far/enough light etc. I keep hoping every IOS update will fix it but no luck. Any suggestions?
