TotalAV system extension

I purchased a copy a few weeks back and had problems with installation. I deleted the program and got a refund. After running EtreCheck it said I had a file in my system extension folder. I tried to delete it and got message "operation cannot be completed because I don't have permission. The file is called

"com.jdi.ss.TotalAV.EndpointExtension.systemextension"

I contacted TotalAV and they have ignored my request for help.

Would anyone here know how to get rid of this extension?

Thanks, Bill

These do not look like something that would appear in your Applications folder. It seems like you are looking at your Desktop folder, instead.

Press command-shift-A to open the Applications folder.

First see if TotalAV appears there normally, then if necessary show hidden files.

According to their website, you should merely drag the application the trash to uninstall it. Did you restart your mac? If not, do so.

Thanks Luis, I've been with Apple since 1977 with my first Apple II+. The first thing I did was look at TotalAV website to see how to remove the program. After that I did restart and just to be sure I restarted after you comment today. It is still there. As it does not seem to impact my iMac I am just going to ignore it and let life continue in a relaxed mode. One thing I have learned in the past few months is that any company who offers an easy instal is probably full of ....

Not one company I have tried in the past 45 years tells the whole story. I could probably fill a whole page of them.

So thank you very much, I will wait for the new iMac (hopefully with the new chip) and dump this old late 2015.

Again my thanks.
