Messages missing after iCloud restore sync

I had to get a replacement iPhone yesterday - I had my phone backed up with iCloud and I restored from my backup when I set up my new phone..

It finished loading, my photos/apps/contacts etc all synced over fine but a lot of my texts (pretty much from October until present) didn’t load.. and my pictures/videos/etc within the messages that did load are missing.. a lot of texts within my inbox are out of order too which is weird.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a chance the rest will still show up or do I have to cry because I lost them all?

my inbox hasn’t shown them downloading messages on the bottom so I can’t help but think it’s done loading?

We understand you're not seeing all of your messages after setting up your replacement iPhone, and we'd like to see if we can assist.

To get started, do you use Messages in iCloud? If so, head to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > and make sure Messages is enabled.
