Enable high contrast without enabling reduced transparency on macOS Big Sur

As it says in the title

Is there a way?

I suffer from astigmatism, and in all sorts of devices enabling some sort of high contrast mode enables me to find my way faster around the UI. On my iPad [iOS 14.4] I can very easily enable high contrast mode without enabling reduced transparency - however my MacBook running macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 forces reduced transparency on me whenever I enable high contrast mode and doesn't give me an option to disable reduced transparency with keeping high contrast enabled.

What gives? Is there a way? Is this by design, of for some reason just impossible to do? If not an option officially yet, how do I submit feedback?

Hi benjidanecki,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with high contrast mode on your Mac.

It does appear that selecting Increase Contrast does automatically select Reduce Transparency in System Preferences > Accessibility > Display.

You can leave Product Feedback.

We'd also encourage you to reach out to the Accessibility experts at Get Support.

Have a fantastic day!
