I want to change the name name@icloud.com and keep the original identifier.

I want to change the name name@icloud.com and keep the original identifier.

I searched the entire Internet, but did not find anything sensible, do I really have to delete my account completely in order to change the name name@icloud.com?

Once created, you cannot edit the prefix part of an iCloud email address (so you cannot edit prefix@icloud.com). You can make an alias and use the alias instead. See -> Use email aliases on iCloud.com - Apple Support

But with just about any third party email account, you have to make a new account to change the email address, since the email address you created is the name of the account in the email service providers system. Changing it inherently creates a new email account.
