Hi
I found the project in finder and renamed it. In the logic folder where it is stored it is successfully renamed but when I open the project up it still says the previous name at the top. Is there any way to change this.

You can edit/delete the redundant name here:
File > Project Altenatives > Edit Alternatives...
but beware, make a safety copy before editing, because you might delete a version you need.
BTW, you can rename your project conveniently inside Logic next time:
File > Project Management > Rename...
