iPad FaceTime

I have my iPhone and iPad using the same iCloud account. My iPad is set up on its own cellular plan and has its own phone number. When FaceTime calls are placed on the iPad, the email shows up. I want the iPad to use the actual phone number to make calls and send messages. Is there a way to accomplish this outside of setting up its own iCloud account?

You clearly need some accurate information...

An iPad, whether a Cellular model or not, is not capable of directly accessing Cellular Voice or SMS/MMS Messaging features. An iPad with either WiFi or Cellular connectivity alone can only access IP-data services. An iPad is not, and can never be, a standalone substitute for an iPhone.

If you have a WiFi+Cellular model of iPad, with a provisioned Cellular service, the “number” assigned to the SIM is only used to identify your Cellular account for administrative and billing purposes. This number cannot be used with Apple iMessage or FaceTime services.

When paired with an iPhone, the capabilities of iPad significantly broaden to include access to Cellular Voice and Messaging services of the associated iPhone (using the Mobile phone number of the iPhone SIM) relayed to the iPad over WiFi using Apple’s continuity features.
