Cannot upgrade the latest Big Sur 11.2

If you're having trouble going thru the System/Software Update preference pane go to the App Store, search for Big Sur, download and install from there. Also make sure you have at least 35.5 GB of free space or the installer won't run.

I cannot install the new 11.2.2 update for Big Sur. A crash happens that won't let it install. Here's the error report:

I can not upgrade to Big Sur 11.2.2. During Preparing, freezes at 10 minutes remaining Then get “The computer does not have all available operating system updates installed “. I open Software Update and get failed message. I am using a MacBook purchased in December 2020.

Then is appears you are experiencing the Interference / corruption of OS that AntiVirus SCra*ware has done. It is amazing just how deep the the AV Software creeps. Suggested, Remove this software as per Developers Instructions and only then attempt again

Why not? What happens when you try exactly? Any errors? What model of Mac are you trying to install it on?

Do you have AntiVirus Software installed - it will interfere with the update

Disabled AntiVirus Software. Tried twice, once after restart. Still does not work.

Removing and reinstalling the virus software worked for me. I was using Intego Internet Security package.

Many thanks for getting back to us. It is a testament to AntiVirus %^&ware installed and causes havoc. Just removing an voila.
