When I download pictures from iCloud they are low resolution when I try to use them anywhere else. They won't work on Shutterfly or Upload to Kiosk. How do I fix this problem so I can upload them to these websites at a higher resolution?

I understand they store differently on a device but I was trying to download them one at a time from my iCloud onto my computer before uploading them to Shutterfly and that would not work either. We'll do all we can to help get you pointed in the right direction. 'When you use iCloud Photos, your photos and videos are stored in iCloud exactly as you took them. If you turn on Optimize Storage, iCloud Photos automatically manages the size of your library on your device. Your original photos and videos are stored in iCloud and space-saving versions are kept on your device.'

I contacacted Apple support and they were not able to help me but I got an email follow up later that said if I download them as Unmodified it would solve this problem. This didn’t help me at all because I had already done that before even trying to reach out for help from anywhere.

Check out and follow the steps on this page: Download iCloud photos and videos. If you want to download your photo or video as it was originally captured or imported, choose Unmodified Original.

Can you explain in more detail, how you are trying to use the downloaded photos?
When you download the unmodified originals on your Mac, are you saving them in a folder on your desktop?
Have you checked the resolution of the downloaded photos with the Preview.app? hen you open a photo in preview, you can use the Tools menu: Tools > Inspector to see details about the downloaded file.
Any details you can give us might help to solve the puzzle.
I am trying to upload the photos to Shutterfly to use in a photo book. I am saving the files into a folder on the desktop. The files that work are JPEG, the files I am having trouble with are stored as HEIC. I took the pictures with my iPhone as a standard photo. The pixel width is 3,024 and length is 4,032.
I have downloaded it unmodified and most compatible and neither seem to work. The photos are still low resolution when I upload them to any website.
