I am not following why you think that is necessary unless you are trying to use an out of date installer which can be redownloaded from Apple without the need to do the changing time workaround you see in many older posts.
Yes, that can happen if you are trying to use an old installer file. Every now and then Apple reissues them with a new certificate and if you have an installer you downloaded 2 years ago then you may encounter that error. If this is a brand new download then it is possible you have a corrupt download which is being misread as an old certificate. You then need to get to a really good wifi connection or better yet, a wired Ethernet connection, and redownload the installer. Well, I guess in either case you need to do that. :-)
Because I received an error message Untrusted certificate title And when I googled that and said that it was an issue with the time. I corrected the time but I cannot get the time zone to correct and I’m still getting the error message
